ABOUT KANA SHIMANUKI
As an artist, Kana Shimanuki is deeply curious about how art and the creative process transform our inner world. Her work lives at the intersection of performance, music, and storytelling. It is no surprise, then, that her work appears across many spaces—including her voice on the Hulu original series Benefits with Friends, over one million cumulative streams of her original music across platforms, live musical performances, and her volunteer work leading a community vocal group at the Inner Empowerment Center.
Based in Los Angeles, the Canadian-born, Brazilian-Japanese singer, actor, and composer is carving space for her voice in the music, film, and television industries. Kana has shared her voice around the world on legendary stages, including the Hollywood Bowl and Carnegie Hall. Her love and curiosity for bringing meaningful stories to life are rooted in a deep belief that art can—and will—continue to transform lives.
